The first of many...

It's been well over a year since Megan Elizabeth and I first started talking about our business plan. We had honed in on a lot of things that we knew would be staples of our business: a focus on environmental responsibility, high quality ingredients, thoughtful preparation of lovely, handmade products, to name a few.  Through our many discussions, the biggest question we asked ourselves was "how do we set ourselves apart from others doing similar things?"  Megan Elizabeth was the genius that suggested the do-it-yourself aspect of the business.  Once she suggested this brilliant idea, we were off and running.  SO MANY IDEAS!

When we made our decision to locate ourselves in the City Exchange one of the main challenges we felt we were facing was where and how to have workshops for our customers.  Thankfully, the folks at The City Exchange helped us to come up with a way that we could do workshops at least once a month.  We had the first of these workshops this past weekend.
We had balls of bubble cookie "dough" ready for people to play with. Our table was all set up with colors, fragrances, cookie cutters, sprinkles, and several varieties of glitter.
As you can see, people's imaginations ran wild! We love to see what our customers create...special gifts for themselves and personalized gifts for others!

Interested?? You should be ;)

Our next workshop is June 11! We will teach you how to make bath fizzies and you can customize them with fragrance, color, glitter and sprinkles! We hope to see you there!

One of the biggest objectives Megan Elizabeth and I had when we first started our business was to create really amazing, customized products for people and their special events.  Our love of all things related to baked goods led us to draw a lot of our inspiration from actual bakeries.  Maybe another way to think of us is as a bath and body bakery?  We feel we suit this style very well, and it's not just because of our brilliantly deceptive bath fizzy cupcakes.  We keep things fresh, rotated on a regular basis, hand made, customizable and we maintain a minimal inventory.  See?  Almost the exact same thing :)

Recently we have really started picking up on those custom orders.  Big or small, we have put together special gifts for brides, an employee appreciation gift, and created a custom fragrance for a local event and catering organization.  There are other opportunities that we are developing as well.  It's all pretty darn exciting, not to mention SUPER fun.
These sweet mini massage bars were paired with a lovely lavender bath tea, packaged in an extra large tea bag, of course, for a recent bridal shower.  We received some really positive feedback, "Thank you so much to The Narwhal and the Manatee for creating these beautiful favors for my future daughter-in-law's Bridal Tea! They were amazing and loved by all! Megan and Traci went above and beyond to customize this order! The bath play dough was a hit with the little girls as well, thanks again!"  Our pleasure!
Another recent customization we handled was a special order for an employee appreciation gift.  We were able to make Call Me in the Morning Whipped Sugar Scrub for some hard working folks at Parkview Hospital.  "I ordered these beautiful whipped sugar scrubs for my staff and providers for employee appreciation week. They were a big hit and they smell wonderful! A Huge Thank You to You Guys!!!"  You are SO welcome!  Thank you for giving us a chance to be part of your gift giving.

From one extreme to the other.  We did minis for one order and one of our next custom orders was for six gallons of hand soap and six smaller pumps of hand lotion for Empyrean Catering and Events.  There was definitely a little extra excitement with this order because we were able to create a fragrance they chose and will be created exclusively for them.  Wanna know what it smells like?  Looks like you will need to find a reason to check out their delightfully elegant location at the top of the PNC building down town ;)

This is just the beginning and a very small sample of what we can do to make your upcoming special events memorable through the power of scent and skin care.  We hope you think of us when you've got an occasion where you want what you bring to be something hand made without having to be made by your hands or if your looking for a way to make your business stand out in a way catered just for you.
